A Madalena is an extensive recreational area spanning three hectares on the banks of the river which it is named after. Landscaped with grass and located in surroundings with native vegetation, it has a good infrastructure of services for sport and leisure activities, for example: jogging, fishing, bathing, basketball, football, athletics, volleyball and tennis.
The Magdalena is the staring point of the river boardwalk. In the vicinity, there is a water park, and not much further on there are a cross, watermills and the Magdalena chapel, dedicated to San Lázaro.
How to get there
The recreational area and the river beach A Madalena can be found in the parish of Mourence. It can be accessed from the town centre in Vilalba via the LU-861 road heading towards Ferrol, on foot, by car or by bus. Once you have passed the town, take the turning on the left, where the river beach is signposted, and the area can be found around 250 metres further on.
